HTC Hero vs. APPLE IPhone 3GS

Phonedog.com has just published 30 minute long video review in HD! The review is all about comparing Iphone to Hero. He said that Hero got the potential, it is better! but because of the speed, IPhone is still the winner.

Yeah, Iphone is faster, but for me, what I need is Hero, it just give everything I want in a smartphone and the UI (not the speed) is far better the Iphone IMO. Hero is fast, It is just that Iphone 3GS is faster. So for me, HTC HERO is the winner.

Here you can watch it here:

Phonedog also published a written review which they give it a 4.5 out of 5. You can read it here.

HTC HERO - Highly Recommended by MobileBurn

First, the three videos, now they published a full written review. It is one of the best review for HERO. Better read it now, go here.

Also, Mobileburn got a amazing conclusion about HERO, It got a the best rating for a phone which is "HIGHLY RECOMMENDED".

"Overall, I can happily give the HTC Hero a "Highly Recommended" rating without any second thoughts whatsoever. No other device that I've tested has been so easy to set up and so intuitive to use, whilst also being fun and functional. If you can get over the odd chin (I quite like it, actually) then this is surely a device to seriously consider."

Sluggish or Not?

Recently, a lot reviews from different site claiming that HTC Hero's interface is not that good. They experience lag, lag, and lag. The latest review is from Engadget which they said that: What we are saying is that this build is a bit too much for a device like the Hero to handle, and that makes for an uneven, sometimes frustrating experience. Going into the review, we desperately wanted to love this phone, but given the combination of a few poor hardware choices and an OS which outclasses the device it runs on, we can only recommend that you enter at your own risk.

Really? Well, Some HTC Hero's user are not convince, yes they experience some lag but to the point that they get frustrated. They said that they only experience a little bit "lag" when some internet apps are updating or there are so many application running at the background. Well, this is not new to android users that is why there are so many remedy about this problem in Android market like Advance Task manager. And about the Flash in the browser, there are some videos in youtube showing that flash is usable.

I notice that a white version of Hero got some good reviews(ex. from SlashGear) while the graphite version got some bad reviews(ex. from Engadget). Anyway, For those who are still wondering, why don't you watch some videos in Youtube? Here I got something new for you from Phonescoop:

Do you see any lag? I see nothing but a smooth UI. There are also some great collection of videos from coolsmartphone.

Even it is not really that sluggish, we are still expecting some small lag. Some people are claiming that there are several solutions like using a class 6 memory card, or just wait for an update to make everything smooth. Well, we are hoping for one.

In my opinion, I believe it is HTC's fault why there are something like this. They use a two years old processor which I think is just enough for normal users, but what about for some power users? Yes Hero is not that sluggish, but I think it is better if Sense UI is not pushing the processor in the limit. I mean, it would be better if it got a very powerful processor so that even there so many applcation that are running in the backgroud you will not experience any lag. Well anyway we cannot change it, Hero is now available in the market (In Orange) we just hope to have a good update to improve the Hero.

By the way, there are some small reviews poping out in the web like this one.

HTC Hero's Browser Compare to Others

Here I saw a good video comparing the browser of Hero to N97, Iphone 3GS, and TouchPro 2. As you can see, steel no one can beat the Iphone in terms of speed but I glad that Hero comes next! Also, you will see that Hero got a better Flash support than the other phones.

HTC Hero Reviews

I saw two long review this day. It is all about the new HTC HERO. The first one was from SlashGear which I think a very good review and the other one is from Gizmodo which from some people it is bias. Well, I really don't know I never read phone reviews from Gizmodo (I am fan of GSM Arena when it comes to phone reviews) I think there are just something wrong with there unit. As Chris of SlashGear said: It's curious, our demo Hero doesn't seem anywhere as slow as Gizmodo found. The camera is snappier (ha!) than theirs, and while there's a small pause in swiping across homescreen panes it's only when one of the widgets is updating (i.e. Peep pulling in new tweets). I'm thinking it's a firmware issue too.

Anyway, Here are the reviews:
From SlashGear : HTC Hero Review

From Gizmodo : Ambitious, But Tragically Flawed

For me, I think there is just a problem with Gizmodo's HTC Hero. I already watch a lot videos from Youtube and I think it is fast.

Also,
HTC Hero is now available in Orange.
